Everyone starting a new ministry is faced with the challenge of determining what they want to call themselves. We looked through Scripture seeking the perfect word or phrase to encompass who we are and the call God placed on our heart. After some deliberation we finally felt settled on the Hebrew word Yatsa. The word is used in Genesis 12:5 and is translated in English as to "set out". It describes Abram's obedient action to set out in response to God's command to "Go forth... to the land which I will show you" (NASB).

We feel God's call to "Go" to the people of Thailand. Creating disciples and training them to go forth themselves into the region of South East Asia and beyond.

Anywhere you go in the world you will find Christians involved in some type of ministry. And just as when determining a ministries name one has to also determine what type of ministry God is calling them to. Over the years we have discovered one simple form of ministry that seems to keep beckoning us. This is form of ministry is simple in principle but difficult in practice.

As we searched the Scriptures for direction we found ourselves coming back time and time again to the greatest missionary ever to walk the face of the Earth, Jesus Christ. As we are told in Philippians 2:5b-7, "Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men (NASB).

Christ left His throne in Heaven and came to us, sinful people, to minister to us, walk with us, eat with us, heal us, teach us, and then die for us. Jesus spent 33 years living on earth prior to His death on the cross and resurrection. Three and a half of those years Jesus dedicated to disciplining the 12 men He selected to carry the Gospel unto the ends of the Earth making disciples themselves and sending them out to do the same.

Our conviction is to "set out", to live amongst the people of Thailand, walk with them, eat with them, work with them, heal them if we can, and teaching them of Christ preaching the gospel in all seasons.
