The Silkwood Family

 

 

Jeff and Mary Silkwood are second generation missionaries serving in Thailand. The Silkwood's have always known that their purpose in life was to share the love of Christ to the nations. Both from an early age have had a strong desire to serve the Lord cross culturally.

Jeff was born and raised in Thailand. As a boy he can remember his Sunday school teacher asking him, “Jeff, what do you want to be when you grow up?”. His response was quick and assured, “I want to be a missionary, like my parents!”.

Mary was raised in a Illinois, and felt God's call to the mission field as a young girl. While at at church camp one summer the missionary that year came to the end of his presentation and asked, “Who here would like to commit themselves to Christ?”. Mary was quick to get up and hurry forward. She committed herself to serving God on the mission field that day.

 

Jeff and Mary met in 2006 at the National Missionary Convention. Both having a passion to preach Christ to the nations. Since then they have graduated from Bible College, served in youth ministries, pastoral roles, and have went on several missions trips together. Now, along with their three children, they serve as missionaries to Thailand.

With the truth firmly planted in their minds they feel confident in their conviction that God has set them apart for this task. Through the trials of life God has equipped them in a specific way in order to allow them to proclaim His unchanging Word to the people of Thailand and southeast Asia.
